Snoop Dogg recently took to social media to address the video he made towards “CBS Good Morning”’s Gayle King, following her interview with former WNBA star Lisa Leslie. During the conversation, while speaking on the loss of the late Kobe Bryant, King revisited his 2003 rape allegations, asking Leslie if she thought that complicated his legacy. King quickly received backlash for her question, one of those criticizing her was Snoop Dogg.

On Saturday night (Feb. 8), Snoop asserted that he is a non-violent person. “I’m a non-violent person,” Snoop said in the clip. “When I said what I said, I spoke for the people who felt like Gayle was very disrespectful towards Kobe Bryant and his family.”

“Now with that being said,“ he continued, “what I look like wanting some harm to come to a 70-year-old woman? I was raised way better than that. I don’t want no harm to come to her and I didn’t threaten her, all I did was said, ‘check it out, you outta pocket for what you doing and we watching you. Have a little more respect for Vanessa, her babies and Kobe Bryant’s legacy.’”

Snoop reiterated that he is non-violent and was speaking “from the heart.”

Initially, Snoop condemned King in a the heated video. “Why y’all attacking us? We your people,” he said. “You ain’t come after Harvey Weinstein asking those dumbass questions.” He later called her a “funky dog head b-tch” and added that she “Respect the family and back off, b-tch. Before we come get you.”

Gayle has also addressed the snippet of her interview with Leslie, which went viral, saying that she is “mortified.”

“I am mortified. I’m embarrassed. And I am very angry,” she said. “Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview, totally taken out of context, and when you see it that way, it’s very jarring.”

King added that she was unaware CBS was going to post that snippet of the interview, but also said she understands why viewers were upset.
