The Boosie Badazz and YoungBoy Never Broke Again collaboration project is still on the docket. Initially teased last summer, Boosie revealed the forthcoming album is almost done during an Instagram Live session on Monday (Feb. 24).

“I don’t drop mixtapes, man. Stop saying that sh*t,” Boosie replied to a fan that asked if the collaborated project would arrive as a mixtape. “We ain’t dropping no mixtape, it’s an album. I get paid off my music. I don’t drop mixtapes. I drop albums. I ain’t giving sh*t away. We gon’ drop that bit*h. We got about two, three more songs to do. I want to do about 13 songs. We got nine already.”

The two Baton Rouge natives last collaborated on Boosie’s 2018 single, “Southern Smoke.” Just last week, YoungBoy dropped off his Still Flexin, Still Steppin mixtape, which saw a lone appearance from Quando Rondo on “Suited Panamera.” Boosie, on the other hand, released his collaborated album Badazz MO3 with MO3 earlier this year. Last year also saw the release of Boosie’s Talk Dat Shit, Goat Talk, Bad Azz Zay and Badazz 3.5 records.

Last December, YoungBoy was freed from his probation a few months after being released from jail. However, the 20-year-old rapper’s location is still being monitored, as he’s reportedly allowed to leave the house to record music, but not allowed to perform.

Back in June, when Boosie and YoungBoy first announced their joint project, Boosie had advocated for the young rapper amidst his legal troubles.

“FREE [NBA YoungBoy] them kids need you young ni**a real talk,” he wrote on Instagram. “WE GOT A TAPE THATS [fire]. LETS TALK N GET THIS SH*T TO THE STREETS N MAKE SOME MONEY.”

So far, the collaborated project has not been given an official drop date nor title. See Boosie’s Instagram Live below.
