After experiencing well-deserved success in 2019, Burna Boy is ready to hit the road. The African Giant artist announced his forthcoming Twice As Tall World Tour on Instagram.

“BACK ON ROAD with the ‘TWICE AS TALL TOUR,’” he wrote. “Grab your tickets now! Don’t snooze.”

The 30-date tour will kick off in Atlanta on May 7 and go in to hit North American stops in Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Miami, Dallas, Denver, Minneapolis, Houston and more. Burna will embark on the European leg of his tour on June 28, stopping in the United Kingdom, Norway, France, Germany, Portugal, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Sweden.

While on tour, Burna will also perform in Washington, D.C.’s Broccoli City Festival, the United Kingdom’s Glastonbury Festival and Wireless Festival, France’s Lollapalooza, The Roots Picnic, Germany’s Hype Festival and more.

This year, Burna’s African Giant LP was nominated for Best World Music Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards. He won Best Male MVP, African Artist of the Year and Song of the Year at the Soundcity MVP Awards Festival.

Speaking with REVOLT, African Giant producer and co-writer Kel P revealed that much of the album was recorded in various hotels.

“We didn’t record any of the songs in a studio. We were in a hotel,” he said. “The day I met Burna, we recorded in a hotel and we stayed there for over a month recording songs. I have my mobile studio with me. We were in Lagos, Nigeria. But, we also recorded in a hotel in Ghana.”

Kel also shared the status of Burna’s forthcoming fifth studio album.

“I did 23 songs with Burna in one month and two weeks in the hotel. So, he has a lot. We’re still recording. His next album is ready,” he said. “Anytime he’s in Africa, we always link up and record. I’ll take my mobile studio to his place, boom, set up there. He has a very good mic that doesn’t record noise and the plugins I use can fade out the sounds.”
