It appears a collision between OVO mogul Drake and Griselda’s own Benny the Butcher is in the works. After shouting out each other in past interviews, the two rappers are now hinting at a forthcoming collaboration.

“Sent [Drake] a record and I kno imma wanna drop it soon as he send it back,” Benny tweeted on Friday (Feb. 21).

Furthermore, after “Rap Radar” co-host Elliott Wilson posted Benny’s tweet to Instagram, Drake suggested that he’s already gotten to witting by commenting a typewriter emoji.

Drake previously spoke highly of Griselda during his two-hour “Rap Radar” interview.

“In a mainstream space I feel like the art of bars and that traditional long verse is kind of going extinct,” he said. “Then you got guys like Griselda making it wavy again to be on your gutter, straight rap sh*t. The interesting structures — that gutter sh*t.”

The podcast co-hosts asked Drizzy if he could see himself collaborating with Benny.

“Yeah I’m down, I’m down. Benny showed me love one time on an interview, too,” he replied. “I think what they’re doing is great, it just reminds me of a different time and it’s not easy to to do; to make that music and come off wavy and be interesting.”

Soon after, Benny amplified the major co-sign by posting the snippet of Drake’s “Rap Radar” interview on Instagram.

“Let’s go,” he wrote, alluding to the proposed collaboration. “This would fu*k ni**as up.”

Last year, Benny dropped off his The Plugs I Met EP, which included features from Black Thought, Pusha T and more. He also collaborated with his Griselda teammates Conway the Machine and Westside Gunn on their label debut, WWCD.

Drake, on the other hand, is currently working toward his forthcoming album, although he’s revealed only minimal details about the new project. Most recently, he teamed up with Future for “Life is Good.”
