Black Twitter would like to have an important conversation with former NBA player Nate Robinson after many witnessed him get knocked out by YouTuber Jake Paul on Saturday (Nov. 28) during their fight, which was a part of Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.’s big night.
There are clips on social media that show Paul punching Robinson so hard that he fell straight to the ring floor. To say that people watching the bout were in utter shock would be in understatement. Everyone was floored! Pun intended.
TMZ reports, “23-year-old Jake was in control the entire fight Saturday night — knocking Nate down once in the 1st round — and twice in the 2nd. But there was no getting up from knockdown #3 — Paul hit him with a nuclear bomb right on the button.”
The news outlet continued, “36-year-old Nate eventually got up — but the former NBA star needed some help off the canvas. Paul only landed 8 punches in the fight ... but he made ‘em all count.”
Hours before his fight with Paul, Robinson tweeted about it. “Tonight I’m fighting for my brothers in the NBA, athletes across the world, and most importantly my children. #tysonjones #holdat,” he said with a photo of himself in the boxing ring.
In another tweet, he added: “Tonight we make history. Dont Miss it. #TysonJones.”
Unfortunately for him, this night looks like the history he didn’t see coming. “After the fight, Paul praised Nate during a post-fight interview with Jim Gray ... ‘He was better than I expected ... I wanted to say thank you to Nate,’” TMZ also claimed. “It takes a lot of balls to step in the ring and I don’t want to take anything away from that.”
