Scarface turns to Twitter to find a kidney donor

His kidneys never made a full recovery after he was diagnosed with COVID-19 back in March.

Scarface is using social media to find a kidney donor — months after he tested positive for COVID-19. “I need a kidney y’all any volunteers? B+ blood type,” he tweeted on Wednesday (Oct. 7).

Back in March, the “Guess Who’s Back” emcee, who is asthmatic, revealed to his fellow Geto Boys member, Willie D, that he contracted Coronavirus. “You know, like this whole three weeks have been an ordeal, Will,” he said. “Like it’s the craziest shit I’ve ever done and seen in my life. I’ve been to the point where I just felt like I was going to die, bro. I threw up so much until it was just hot sauce. Like your gasses and the shit in your stomach — your acids. I didn’t have no food in my stomach. It was just coming up like bile bro.”

In June, Scarface gave an update on his condition. He said that kidneys did not make a full recovery from the diagnosis.

“COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out,” he said in an interview with FOX 26 Houston. “I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back.”

He then went into detail about other symptoms that he experienced. “I’m still a little weak,” he continued. “I don’t have a lot of strength in my legs yet. I still haven’t got full taste back and sense of smell yet. But, I am glad to be alive.”

Scarface also revealed that he was placed on dialysis. “I fought the COVID, double bilateral pneumonia and kidney failure, all in my house. This my new lifeline,” he said. “I gotta change my entire diet. I gotta do dialysis four times a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all of my blood out, cleaning it and putting it back in my body. Before the COVID, I never had kidney problems.”
