Eminem “stan” breaks world record with 16 tattoos of his face

Nikki Patterson now has the Guinness World Record for most portrait tattoos of one artist.

One real-life “stan” has made history. On Wednesday (Sept. 30), a Scottish woman named Nikki Patterson broke the Guinness World Record for having the most portrait tattoos of one artist — that artist being Eminem.

“The portraits began three years ago and I loved everything about them,” Patterson told BBC. “I adored them and had to get more.”

Patterson has 16 portrait tattoos of Em all over her body and 28 total tattoos dedicated to the rapper. According to BBC, she got her first Slim Shady ink when she was 19 years old. Now 35, she says that even she sometimes loses count.

“I heard ‘Stan’ when I was 14 and had never heard anything like that before,” she told the outlet. “It blew me away.”

“I started to like tattoos,” she added. “He’s been the one constant in my life and I have seen him perform live.”

Patterson approached the Guinness Book of World Records during quarantine and found that the previous record was for 15 portrait tattoos. After adding her 16th Eminem portrait, the record keepers did a rigorous checking process and eventually awarded Patterson with the feat.

“Look what just arrived,” she shared on Instagram Friday (Oct. 2), along with a photo of her official Guinness World Records certificate.

According to Inked Mag, Patterson has over 50 individual tattoos. She got her Eminem ones done by tattooists in Aberdeen; Edinburgh and Chester, Scotland.

Patterson has certainly taken a different approach to fandom than one man who broke into Eminem’s house earlier this year. Back in April, 26-year-old Matthew David Hughes was arrested and charged with first-degree home invasion and malicious destruction of a building after invading Em’s Detroit home. According to the responding officer on the scene, Hughes had told Eminem that “he was there to kill him.”

It also wasn’t the first time Hughes had tried to track down his rap idol. Almost a year prior, the man had approached two different properties and told homeowners he was “looking for my brother Marshall [Mathers].” He was arrested for trespassing after both of those incidents, as well.
