“The Breakfast Club” nominated for NAACP Image award

The nominees were announced for the 51st NAACP Image Awards.

REVOLT TV’s “The Breakfast Club” has been nominated for Outstanding News/Information (Series or Special) and will go up against “PUSHOUT: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools” (PBS), “Surviving R. Kelly” (Lifetime), “The Story of God with Morgan Freeman” (National Geographic), and “Unsung” (TV One).

“The Breakfast Club” is brought to you by NYC radio personalities DJ Envy, Angela Yee, and Charlamagne Tha God. They play the best music in hip hop and R&B and weigh in on the most outrageous headlines in entertainment and pop culture. Celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Birdman, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Rick Ross, Waka Flocka and Gucci Mane have all visited “The Breakfast Club” for interviews.

The four and half hour morning show includes segments such as “Angela Yee’s Rumor Report,” where she shares the latest pop culture news and Envy and Charlamagne share their unique opinions on each topic. “Donkey of the Day” is where Charlamagne chooses a public figure or celebrity to poke fun at after publicly make a fool of themselves. DJ Envy’s “People’s Choice Mix” is 25 minutes straight of Envy’s award-winning music mixes.

“The Breakfast Club” is the most listened to urban contemporary morning show in America. They have over 90 stations across the country with nearly 5 million weekly listeners. The trio brings in over 4 million YouTube subscribers. They recently added 10 new radio affiliates in places around the country like Meridian, Mississippi and Evansville, Indiana.
