Kim Kardashian is shutting down reports that she gifted North West with the bloody shirt from the assassination of John F. Kennedy.

Someone photoshopped a picture to make it look like Kim posted a photo of a bloody shirt to her Instagram story. The caption on the fake picture read, “Along with Michael Jackson’s jacket and hat, North also got the shirt John F. Kennedy wore when he was assassinated.”

Refinery 29 thought that the photoshopped image was real, and ran an article about it. They wrote, “Over the weekend, Kim Kardashian shared a few of the Christmas gifts she and Kanye West put under the tree for their oldest child, North West. Among them, rather unconventionally, were some of Michael Jackson’s personal items — including a jacket and a white hat. Kardashian West posted photos of the presents on her Instagram story, captioning the hat picture: ‘Along with the jacket, North also got Michael’s “Smooth Criminal” hat. It still has his makeup on it.’ Perhaps even more surprising, though, was that she also gave North the shirt President John F. Kennedy was wearing when he was shot and killed.”

They continued, “What is North West going to do with JFK’s bloody shirt? And why isn’t it in a museum? The visual of the shirt posted on her stories is jarring — and raises questions about why anyone would give a child something so violent.”

Screenshots of the Refinery 29 article went viral before they could delete it.

Kim made sure to shut the rumor down. She tweeted, “WOW this is obviously fake! @Refinery29. I did not get JFK’s shirt. That is a sick joke that someone tweeted as a fake ig story that I never posted.”
