Earlier we reported that 16-year-old Karol Sanchez had been kidnapped while walking with her mother in The Bronx. Thankfully, the teen has been found safe and has been reunited with her mother.

At about 2:33 p.m. on Tuesday (Dec. 17) the NYPD’s 40th Precinct announced that Sanchez had been found, tweeting: “WE HAVE A VICTORY TODAY !! Karol has been found !!! Thank you to all who have worked very hard to track down the people involved in this case!”

Video of the kidnapping went viral on social media as many concerned citizens became concerned for Sanchez’ safety. Sanchez was walking with her mother around 11:20 p.m. along Eagle Avenue near East 156th Street in Melrose section when a tan four-door sedan pulled up beside them.

Two men jumped out, grabbed the girl and dragged her into the vehicle, police said. They also allegedly knocked her 36-year-old mother to the ground. Police said four men drove off with the victim, heading east on East 156th Street. Investigators believe that the four men appear to be in their 20’s and are wearing dark-colored clothes.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio urged the public to come forward with any information. he tweeted, “To Karol Sanchez’s family and loved ones, know that the NYPD will not rest until she’s found — and her kidnappers are brought to justice.”

Police Commissioner Dermot Shea and many other local and national police departments have used Twitter to circulate Sanchez’ photo in the hopes of finding witnesses or any other information. The New York Police Department offered a $2,500 reward for any information about the kidnapping.

Thank God she was found safe. She is reportedly cooperating with police as they investigate the kidnapping. The suspects are still at large. Take a look at Sanchez reuniting with her mother.
