Lizzo was the topic of many conversations last week after she revealed her bare bottom in a thong on the Jumbotron while attending a Lakers game. The “Truth Hurts” singer sat court side at the game when she showed off her risqué ensemble.

She took to social media shortly after to address those who has negative things to say about her showing off her body. “I’m shocking because you’ve never seen in a long time a body like mine doing whatever it wants to do and dressing the way that it dresses and moving the way that it moves,” she said in an Instagram video.

Lizzo continued, “Who I am and the essence of me and the things that I choose to do as a grown-ass woman can inspire you to do the same. You don’t have to be like me — you need to be like you. And never, ever let somebody stop you or shame you from being yourself.”

Rumors also began to circulate that she was banned from the Staples Center, which has been proven to be false. Lee Zeidman, president of Staples Center, Microsoft Theater and LA Live told Billboard that she is welcome at the arena anytime.

“She is not banned from the Staples Center and is welcome here anytime,” Zeidman said.

He added, “It’s ridiculous that these rumors get started and that people write these types of things without making any attempt to find out the truth. It’s very lazy and disrespectful.”

On an lighter note, Lizzo was recently named TIME magazine’s Entertainer of the Year. She shared the news in a celebratory Instagram post, writing, “ARE.. YOU.. NOT.. ENTERTAINED?!? Thank you [Time] for naming me Entertainer of the Year.”

She is also currently nominated for eight Grammy awards. She took home awards for Video of the Year and Album of the Year at the Soul Train Awards earlier this year.
