The friends and family of Juice WRLD gathered to say their last goodbyes to the rapper.
According to TMZ, Juice had an open casket funeral at Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ in Harvey, Illinois. His mother, siblings, and grandmother spoke during the service. The funeral program included a collage of pictures of Juice along with words from his immediate family. Several Interscope Records executives attended the funeral as well as his friends, Ski Mask The Slump God.
Sunday (Dec. 8) Juice passed away after suffering a seizure at Chicago’s Midway Airport. The pilot who was flying Juice’s private plane alerted authorities that the rapper and his entourage had guns. When they landed, the authorities were waiting for him and his crew. TMZ is told that at some point between the plane landing and the feds searching through his luggage, he was seen swallowing several pills in an attempt to hide them. Those pills could have contributed to his actual death.
As they were going through his luggage, sources said the rapper began “convulsing (and) going into a seizure.” Juice WRLD reportedly woke up, but was incoherent. Police asked his girlfriend if he had any medical issues or had ingested any drugs. She said that he did not have any medical conditions, but that he “takes Percocet and has a drug problem.” He was transported to the Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
Artists at Rolling Loud Los Angeles will reportedly give various tributes to Juice WRLD following his untimely death. “Sources familiar with the plans tell TMZ ... Lil Pump, Lil Mosey and Tyla Yaweh are all planning to pay tribute to Juice during their sets at Rolling Loud Los Angeles. They’re all scheduled to perform Saturday (Dec. 14),” TMZ reports. Lil Pump’s set will allegedly involve performing some of Juice’s songs and/or displaying a video of him on the stage jumbotron.
