Steve Harvey is jumping on the streaming wave. Variety reports that Harvey has inked a deal with Facebook Watch for a new talk show. The new show, titled “Steve on Watch,” is set to premiere on Jan. 6.

“Get ready for insightful perspectives, unfiltered responses, and surprising takes on the everyday issues affecting his audience,” Endeavor Content announced. They added that Harvey “will interview remarkable people doing amazing things, get the real story of viral sensations, and get personal with some of the biggest stars of film, TV, and music.”

Harvey has reportedly started taping episodes for the new show at Tyler Perry Studios. Facebook says the episodes will run for 10 weeks and air multiple segments each week. “Reaching my audience anywhere and everywhere they are has always been the goal,” Harvey said in a statement. “Facebook Watch viewers are the most energetic, engaged community, and so are my amazing fans. Getting all those people to directly engage on a platform like this is the perfect evolution of the show.”

Things got a little messy surrounding his departure from NBC. His former talk show, “Steve” ended after NBC decided to give it’s daytime slot to “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” Harvey told Variety that he would have loved to find out about the change personally as opposed to finding out in the press. “I thought it would’ve been nice of them to come to me — as being the only dude that’s survived [in daytime TV] for them for seven years — and say, ‘Steve, we’re thinking about doing this,’” he said. “But no, they just made an announcement. So, when you do that, I gotta make announcements, too… You can’t make announcements and don’t expect to have to hear one yourself.”

Facebook Watch has recently doubled their viewership and has nearly 140 million daily users.
