YK Osiris was arrested in Fulton County, GA on Monday (Nov. 4) for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend. The R&B singer faces felony charges of aggravated assault by strangulation, as his girlfriend accuses him of choking and biting her on the face during his 21st birthday party, which occurred on Sept. 7.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Osiris’ girlfriend informed police of the attack back in September. According to the case’s police report, the woman claims that they got into a fight during his birthday party when she confronted Osiris about a picture on his phone of a woman wearing nothing but a towel.

Osiris allegedly told his girlfriend “I am going to slap the sh*t out of you” before chasing her up the stairs into a bathroom. The fight continued as Osiris allegedly choked and bit her on the face. The woman told police the altercation ended when she bit his lip. According to the report, she had a noticeable mark below her left eye after the incident, which is where she claims Osiris bit her.

Currently, Osiris remains at the Fulton County Jail. He was denied bond and will stay there until his preliminary hearing at the Fulton County Courthouse, set for later this month.

The R&B up-and-comer was included on this year’s XXL Freshman Class, alongside Megan Thee Stallion, DaBaby, Gunna, YBN Cordae and Blueface. He released his debut album, The Golden Child, earlier this year, which featured contributions from Tory Lanez, Ty Dolla $ign, Kehlani, Russ and Jah Vinci. His breakout hit single, “Worth It,” arrived this year, followed by his DaBaby-assisted track, “Freaky Dancer.”

Osiris ruffled some R&B feathers last month during his Rolling Stone interview, where he claimed his talents surpassed Jacquees and Bryson Tiller.

“Nobody listen to Bryson Tiller,” he claimed during the polarizing interview. “Jacquees ain’t really on my level. I don’t feel like he’s on my level. Vocally, yes. But music-wise, nah.”

During the interview, the Florida-born singer revealed he was arrested during his teenage years for armed robbery.
