50 Cent went to Capitol Hill this Wednesday (Oct. 30) to advocate for Starz to remain on Comcast Xfinity. The hip hop mainstay met with several lawmakers, including U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, to discuss the importance of diversity and representation in the entertainment industry.

According to Bossip, Starz also hosted an advance screening of the “Power” mid-season finale at the Motion Picture Association’s theater in Washington D.C. Along with 50 and Naturi Naughton, Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch, Rep. Wm. Lacy Clay (D-MO), Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-VI), Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA), Rep. Tony Cardenas (D-CA) and NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson were in attendance.

“I met with [Rep. Tony Cárdenas (D-CA)] to discuss the importance of producing and promoting diverse programming,” 50 wrote in an Instagram post.

The “Power” co-producer had previously accused Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts of “f**king up” his Starz television show. Comcast is reportedly set to drop 17 Starz channels from their service by the end of this year.

50 received several supportive messages from lawmakers following his Capitol Hill visit, which he shared on Instagram.

“Power is the best show on Tv right now. I will prove it this Next episode,” he wrote on Thursday (Oct. 31).

Rep. Bobby Rush (D-IL) applauded 50’s initiative.

“Hate it or love it, shows like #Power matter b/c #RepresentationMatters,” Rush tweeted. “It is important that we see people who look like us in government AND on the big screen. Thank you [50 Cent], [Naturi Naughton], & [STARZ] for coming to speak w/ me about the importance of diverse programming.”

Following 50’s efforts to keep Starz on Comcast Xfinity, the “In Da Club” rapper hinted at another business venture on the horizon.

“Oh man when you hear what I just made happen you are gonna fallout,” he wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo on a jet. “Big money move.”
