Queen Key is back with new ‘Your Highness 3’ album

The Chicago spitter not pumping her breaks any time soon.

History shows that the hip hop is a male dominated genre and has been since its birth back in August of 1973. While this truth will stick with us for (more than likely) forever, it is a breath of fresh air to hear female rappers pop their shit the way they do! From Queen Latifah to Salt-N-Pepa to Lil Kim to Foxy Brown to Nicki Minaj and more, the game would not be the same without them. Through years of new female rappers coming about at a fairly steady pace, the torch has been passed down to a number of ladies in the game including Chicago rapper Queen Key. Since her arrival, Key has applied much pressure and is showing no sign of slowing down or stopping any time soon. Today (Aug 6), she drops off the third installment of her Your Highness series — and it’s really like that!

Queen Key is the embodiment of rap’s take on feminism. Instead of desexualizing women, she talks about lust, loudly and proudly. Her approach, though, is different from her Chicago colleague, CupcaKke. Born Ke’Asha McClure, she is not that frontal and pornographic — she goes the humorous way. While male rappers like to say “suck my dick”, she titled one of her earlier works Eat My Pussy. This is the very project aimed at accelerating her career since she joined Machine Entertainment Group. That EP was well received, and it was included to many year-end lists. Its strong moment, “My Way”, is one of the rapper’s most powerful anthems. But the greatest of Queen (her first nickname) might be found on her two Your Highness mixtapes that set the tone for this release.

Key has outdone herself with this one, stating that she was going on her “Lil Wayne shit” through the album. The 25 track LP includes features from G Herbo, Zay Osama, Yung Baby Tate, Polo G and more!
