Last Friday (July 30), Philadelphia’s very own Bri Steves unleashed her new EP titled TBH. The new nine-track project includes features from Poundside Pop, Symba, and Guapdad 4000. To enhance the release, Steves wasted no time delivering the accompanying visuals. First up is for the Guapdad-assisted “GAF,” which sees the two artists getting more than comfortable with each other. On the track, Bri opens up with her reflective bars as the two proceed to get intimate:

It’s too many options but I can’t get you on the phone, but that’s life/ All alone with my Patron but that’s right, pathetic, I said it wasn’t love I shouldn’t sweat it/ I gotta say, new bitch, got a new whip, the same tricks I’m still fallin’ on the same dick, on the same shit/ I get it, couldn’t come off like you sympathetic/

Leading up to the release, Bri prepped fans by releasing singles like “Stick Up” and ANTI QUEEN.” The latter track is a testament to a message she wants to portray while paying homage to the queens who paved the way, and in one of her recent interviews, she further delves into it. “‘ANTI QUEEN’ challenges people’s expectations and perceptions of female artists,” Steves says. “I’m pointing out there’s more than one way to wear the crown. In my video, I pay homage to a few women who came before me – Missy Elliott, Aaliyah, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopez. These women inspired and influenced hip-hop by not fitting the mold. They are the original ANTI QUEENS… Now it’s my turn.”

In terms of other recent Guapdad collabs, he recently locked down a major win when Rick Ross hopped on his “How Many” track from his 1176 project. 1176 is a joint project with fellow Filipino !llmind, and the two circled back to release a deluxe version as well shortly after the original drop.
