Back in March, Bay Area’s very own Caleborate unleashed his Light Hit My Skin project. Today (July 1), he returns to unveil the official visual for one of its stand-out singles “Cliquot Shower,” which is also the introduction for the project. The visual opens up with some beautiful imagery of two ballerinas standing in a long tunnel right before Caleborate begins his intro:

I’m everywhere you’ll never be just like a popular bitch, I don’t listen to what you say, I got the rock and the stick/ You wanna take a pic with me so you look poppin’ and shit/ Say what you mean, stop tryna switch the fuckin’ topic and shit

And know it’s us when we pull up soon as we walk in this bitch/ Was born into the game, I never was adopted in this, relax though baby ain’t no need to do no arguing here/ I kept it honest, kept it G way from the start of this shit/

The aforementioned Light Hit My Skin boasts features from Duckwrth, Samaria, redveil, Kota The Friend, Deante Hitchcock, Cantrell, Cash Campain, and Tone Sinatra across its 15 tracks. The project invites listeners in with its intro track “Clicquot Shower” and closes with the aforementioned “The Madness” single. Caleborate’s last project was 2019 Hear Me Out, and he has released singles such as “Pull Up,” “Untitled (Hit Record),” and “Dream Car” featuring Ciscero. He also stopped by the coveted COLORS Studios in Germany to deliver a performance of “Clicquot Shower.”

In terms of what his album title means, Caleborate took the time recently to sit down and explain the plethora of different meanings it has. “I have a lot of different versions of the light that hit my skin, whether it’s on stage or out in the street or whether it’s cop lights cascading over our car or it’s phone flashlights taking pictures with people,” he says. “Or even the light in me if you want to get metaphorical. The light that I can shine is who I am and enlightening people.”
