Earlier this month, G Perico released a laid-back cut titled “I’m In Traffic,” a GotDamnitDupri-produced track that gives off the feel of a beautiful-yet-dangerous day in Los Angeles:
“Ay top drop, for the summer I’m a pimp at heart, I ain’t good at being a lover, it’s two two three shells on the floor, my niggas known for leaving bodies everywhere we go, got hate in my heart for some niggas from the other side, wartime when I was young got me traumatised, L.A. summer, gotta keep a thumper, the heat bringing out the bitches and the gunners...”
This past week, Perico liberated a new visual for “I’m In Traffic,” which matches the song’s vibe thanks to directed by DEP TV Filmz. The clip sees the South Central star taking a ride in his Corvette through his neighborhood, occasionally posting up and taking pics with homies as day turns into night.
Perico’s latest drop follows another new single titled “Out The House,” along with a quick-strike EP titled Blue T-Shirt Leaks. Prior to that, Perico let go of four other projects this year — No Love In LA, Lover Boy Slim, Free, and Welcome To The Land, along with a variety of visuals to match. He can also be heard on tracks by his peers, including Jay Worthy and Harry Fraud’s “Ice Cold,” Terrace Martin and Denzel Curry’s “Pig Feet,” Don Pablito’s “West Coast,” Garren’s “Heavy Metal,” Joey Fatts’ “None of That,” Donut Da Legend’s “Double Back,” Fatboy Bizzle’s “Feel Me Or Kill Me (Remix),” TruCarr’s “What I See,” and Griff Tyler’s “Wassup.” Expanding outside of music, Perico has also been making waves with his So Way Out merch and Blue T-Shirt brand — he even celebrated the latter’s one-year anniversary with a well-received capsule drop.
