It’s been a few years since Jor’Dan Armstrong delivered his last body of work BLSD, a combination of three separate EPs that altogether saw 17 tracks with additional features from Y’Anna Crawley, Bizzle, Dante Bowe, Tim Bowman, Jr., 1kphew, Lowell Pye, and Kierra Sheard. Since then, the Baton Rouge talent did release a loose cut titled “God Got Me” last year, a continuation of his popular inspirational R&B style, something that he further explained via press release:

“What I add to the music industry is the ability to create inspirational music that is not just for Sundays, you can listen to my music any day of the week. My music is the soundtrack of life, I literally have something for every occasion.”

Today (June 11), Armstrong returns with a powerful new single titled “My God,” a powerful, upbeat number that shows that he has no problem delivering praise to his redeemer — a quality that’s also broken down in better detail:

“While on lock down during the pandemic and longing for a vacation. The artist was day dreaming about the breath taking California sunsets and the beautiful downtown skyline at night. When he woke up only two words came to mind… MY GOD! … We hope this song will give God the honor and recognition he deserves and will encourage other people to do the same.”

Initially influenced by R&B icons like Brandy, Prince, and Usher, Armstrong first broke through the proverbial ceiling by producing for the likes of Hamilton Park, Netta Brielle, and Adrian Marcel, eventually graduating to bigger names like Tyrese, Johnny Gill, and Keith Sweat, Sheard, and Demetria McKinney — he’s even shared stages with gospel greats like Isreal Haughton, Mary Mary, and Fred Hammond.

Sunny weather or not, you can start off your weekend with Jor’Dan Armstrong’s latest drop.
