Don Toliver is officially kicking it up a notch in terms of letting his fans know the storm is coming. The melodic Houston star just unleashed his brand new track “What You Need.” The song is the lead single for Don Toliver’s second studio album, L.O.A.D. and boasts co-production from Corbett and Grammy winner Hit-Boy. On the track, Don sings about how he would buy anything for a girl, catering to her every need:

Tell me what you really, really need, lil’ baby (Tell me what you), take you out and put you in Double C, lil’ babe/ Hangin’ out of town, I’m in them cheeks, lil’ baby (Oh yeah) Clap shit down and nuttin’ on your knees, lil’ babe (Woah, woah)/

I like two when I’m in the cut, if I take you to my crib, I put that way down in your gut/ Donny started talkin’, all you said is “So what?”/ Donny started talkin’, got them Xannys goin’ up, Shawty at the strip ‘til the lease up/ Tell me what you need, love, tell me what you need, love

According to a Genius annotation, “What You Need” was first previewed by Ashton Travis in April 2021. It leaked a few hours before its official release on May 4, 2021 after accidentally being posted on Apple Music by Don’s label. Aside from releasing his own project last year titled Heaven or Hell, which included successful hits such as “After Party” and “No Idea,” Don Toliver has taken part in plenty of notable assists in 2020, such as Internet Money’s “Lemonade” alongside Gunna and NAV, Rico Nasty’s “Don’t Like Me” with Gucci Mane, “Cafeteria” by CHASE B featuring Gunna, and more. Most recently, he appeared on Drakeo The Ruler’s The Truth Hurts mixtape.
