The D.C. metropolitan area continues to make a name for itself as one of the biggest hip hop hubs in the past decade, most recently spawning the likes of Rico Nasty, YungManny, Xanman, IDK, GoldLink, Cordae, Baby 9eno, and countless other artists who are making names for themselves in an already congested industry. Within that group is rising star Frank Blunt, an artist that’s working to push boundaries set in his hometown to new levels. This month, the DMV talent unveils his latest body of work titled Outta Know Where, a seven-track offering filled with genre-bending vibes and inspirational subject matter.

Outta Know Where is led by the self-produced groove “Soul Glow Gold,” which sees Blunt waxing poetic about a certain someone who’s taken ownership of his heart:

“You see you remind me of the first day I ever rolled, the first time I got drunk off the Tito’s choppin’ at the go-go, you see you remind me of the beach and the ocean breeze, the first time I got some cheeks, yea, yea, all that to say the least, I paint a Mona Lisa, fall in love with Issa, cocoa lover, show me the real, cup on overflow, but won’t spill…”

“Soul Glow Gold” also sees an accompanying clip shot by Tyler B Studios and directed by YesImDebbie, which brings the emotionally charged lyrics to life with Blunt and his love interest spending quality time with each other during a beautiful day out.

Previously known as Grind Paze, Blunt previously liberated the well-received EP Rare, another seven-track release that contained the singles “Bored Games” and “Quiet As Kept,” and saw additional contributions from Kenny Sharp, Touk, Dolomite, and Lyquin. Longtime fans of Blunt should also be familiar with earlier drops like In Due Time and The Nevasettle Theory.

Press play on both Frank Blunt’s Outta Know Where and the aforementioned video for “Soul Glow Gold.”
