Last year, Sainvil treated his fans to an EP and also his collaboration with Melii “HBK.” He’s now back with his first offering of 2021, his new single “Need 2.” Tinted with with hues of blue and orange, its new official visual helps to accurately depict the foggy line between love and hate. Over some spacey production, Sainvil airs out his frustrations:

Why you showin out for all these people? The same one’s that wasn’t on the previews. Even though you know I got to see you. I need to, I need to, they called my old bitch back won’t hear from me. This one bitch now, been fuckin’ her for days. She told me that I am her escape. Quit playin’ now so we can run away.

Directed by LVTRKEVIN, the video takes viewers through a visual representation of when enough is enough. “We find my girlfriend and I trapped in a cycle of arguments and love which is inspired by my own love lows,” said Sainvil about the visual. In October, Sainvil released his 2020 Was Hijacked EP and the seven-track project included guest features from Boogie and Melii.

After that was the video for the aforementioned “HBK.” The accompanying MARZ-directed visual sees Sainvil and Melii battling to fight the tension between them, but they ultimately give in at the end and they can’t help but to let their inhibitions go. “HBK” stands for Heartbreak Kid, which is a reference to the famous professional wrestler Shawn Michaels. Via press release, Sainvil states the song’s title and video are a metaphor for the guy who desperately wants to be emotionally unattached as well as belong to the streets, but in actuality, he just wants to devote to that special someone.
