Still Over It is a story…. And every story has its beginning!” wrote Summer Walker as she unleashed the news about her forthcoming album, which is a continuation of her successful 2019 Over It project. She paired the announcement with a graphic showing a series of specific dates on it, assumingly indicating she will unveil a song with its corresponding date in order to tell her story. The first taste officially arrived last week as she released her “Ex For A Reason” single, which features City Girls’ very own JT.

Today (Oct. 19), Summer and JT linked up for the official music video for the track. Directed by Lacey Duke, the clip takes place in March 2020 and finds Summer and her girls riding through ATL before pulling up to a house party as she dishes on her toxic tendencies over a fun, upbeat tempo:

Guarantee to beat your ass, that bitch your ex (Your ex), for a reason though a reason though/ It’s too much for a heart to take, fuck ‘bout what she gotta say, no, oh woah/

Shit be on my nerves when it keeps ringin’ back to back (Who the fuck is that?)/ Fuck a bitch on stretchers is always the mindset I’m in (I’m in, oh, oh) but an X game is not the game I’m tryna play at all (Ooh) if she argue mine (Argue mine)

Summer Walker’s last full-length release was her Over It project, which has experienced immense success since its release, containing the platinum-certified single “Come Thru” and the double-platinum hit “Playing Games.” The latter has spent 20 weeks on the Hot 100. Over It has spent 49 weeks in the top 40 and 56 weeks in the top 50 on the Billboard 200 Album chart. In July, Walker’s EP, Life on Earth, debuted inside the top 10 on the Billboard 200 at No. 8.
