Nao has gifted patient fans with another soothing track, this time the Adekunle Gold-assisted “Antidote.” The new song comes paired with a music video and is a beautiful expression of how one can be cured through someone’s love:

She’s got that good-good vibes. Beauty that I can’t describe. Golden like the sun or skies (Sun in the skies). Her shea butter skin don’t crack. Brown sugar, she a chocolate snack. Fire gyal, she don’t take no flack. You take the sun with you when you leave the room. It’s incredible, I put you on a pedestal. I mean all your magical. You are special. You came in my life is a miracle. I’m in love you already know

Nao explained the inspiration behind “Antidote” on social media. “We wrote ‘Antidote’ as a musical remedy 4 U during these times and as an ode to our daughters, who were both born weeks apart from each other during the pandemic,” she wrote. “They filled us with love. They were our Antidote to all that was happening in the world. This song is a summer remedy for your winter days.” “Antidote” follows last year’s “Woman,” featuring Lianne La Havas. Both tracks will appear on the follow up project to Saturn. The forthcoming body of work is set to be released sometime later on this year. In 2016, Nao unleashed her debut project titled For All We Know.

Nigeria’s very own Adekunle Gold released his Afro Pop, Vol. 1 last year. In 2020, we also received a slew of singles from him including “Toxic” with Reminisce, “AG Baby” with Nailah Blackman, “Something Different,” and “Jore” featuring Kizz Daniel. Before that was the 2018 project About 30.
