In the midst of all of today’s tunes, DOM KENNEDY somewhat quietly reveals his new album Rap N Roll, which contains 17 new cuts from the Leimert Park star and additional appearances from Niko G4, 24hrs, Casey Veggies, TeeFLii, and Allyn. Fans were able to join in on DOM’s album listening party with earlier this week via L.A. Leakers’ DJ Sourmilk and Justin Credible.

Rap N Roll follows July’s Also Known As, DOM’s second Half-A-Mil release Hit-Boy — that album acts as a sequel to 2017’s Courtesy Of Half-A-Mil. That project saw 11 tracks and assists from 03 Greedo, 24hrs, and Nas. During a past recording session, Hit-Boy spoke to REVOLT on the project and working with his California counterpart:

“We’re finishing the next Half-a-Mil. That’s going to be the fifth project — second album — and we put three EPs out. We’re just pushing s***. … We’re just like-minded. We’re both calm, super Cali n***as, so we get along. That’s my n***a, man.”

In a past interview with Billboard, DOM spoke on almost retiring and instead starting over:

“I had to restart my career and look at it in a different way over the last 18-24 months… I was happy to address who I am and what I’m about. You can’t be like, ‘It’s all good’ when it’s not all good. I might get 25 great comments and have two people like, ‘Man, what’s going on with this?’ I have to be true to both sides.”

In addition to his own music, DOM KENNEDY has also provided assists this year on IAMSU!’s “Understand Me,” TeeFLii’s “On A Rainy Day,” Jay 305’s “Do It Big,” and Larry June’s “Orange Juice Wit DOM.”
