Not counting the exceptional mixtapes Beautiful Loser and Smyle, 2018 saw Kyle Harvey — better known by the world as KYLE — make his first big footprint on the music game with his big label debut Light Of Mine, which saw appearances from Khalid, Kehlani, Lil Yachty, 2 Chainz, Teyana Taylor, Wiz Khalifa, and more. Now, he returns to the fold with his sophomore studio LP See You When I am Famous!!!!!!!!!!!!, a reference to his high school yearbook quote. The project sees 12 new tracks from the Ventura star, along with collaborations alongside a slew of artists, including Tyga, Rico Nasty, Rich The Kid, Trippie Redd, Bryson Tiller, Raphael Saadiq, and Too $hort. Speaking to Apple Music, KYLE explained the creation of the album:

“With this album, I realized I wanted to get back to the KYLE bag... My headspace was really trying to reconnect with my past to tap back into, I think, the best nature of KYLE music, which is just pure joy and excitement and happiness and starry-eyedness.”

See You When I am Famous!!!!!!!!!!!! was preceded by the singles “YES!,” “Money Now,” “Bouncin,” and “What It Is,” the last of which, as he also explained to Apple Music, sees him keeping it real about the end of a bad relationship:

“I think a part of growing up is learning how to have something not work out the way you wanted and being able to live with it and accept it for what it is. I’ve always loved making R&B music and making pop songs too, and I think that this record is just such an awesome blend of R&B, trap, pop—everything in one song. I feel like it really sums up me as an artist really well.”
