IDK is definitely an exceptional talent to watch these days. Since he first introduced himself in the industry back in 2014, he’s been destined for greatness and the stars have been aligned for him ever since. He’s managed to stay true to himself without forfeiting his sound or deviating from his game plan. His new project IDK & Friends 2 is audible proof that he’s here to stay.

He’s always placed equal importance on lyricism, flow and beat selection. Because of this, IDK has become one of the industry’s most adventurous voices. Any time he drops, a true fan of IDK would know that it will be unpredictable.

One would normally think that an experimental artist like IDK would want to move independently, he’s actually been known to link up with his rapper friends occasionally. On the first edition of IDK & Friends (released in 2018), he tapped on Denzel Curry, Wale, Carnage, Maxo Kream, Q Da Fool, Rico Nasty and Domo Genesis for the seven-track project. While it wasn’t as solid as his initial effort Sex, Drugs & Homework, it undoubtedly provided him the opportunity to have fun with his people — which is a great quality reflected in the music itself.

Serving as the soundtrack to NBA superstar Kevin Durant’s documentary titled In The Waiter, this is a stacked body of work with features from A$AP Ferg, Denzel Curry, Wale, Juicy J, Maxo Kream, PNB Rock, Rico Nasty, Xanman, Ronny J, Alex Vaughn, Weensy, Yung Manny, Big Jam and Big Flock. Production is handled by Jetsonmade, Juicy J and many more.

IDK & Friends 2 is not quite like the the usual analytical tendencies you’d be used to hearing on a IDK project, but it is righteous nonetheless. Be sure to set some time aside to indulge in this dope body of work below.
