Musically, it seems as though 2020 gets better by the week. With some thorough releases dropping like flies these days, we’re bound to come hit the jackpot on a national treasure every once in a while. That national treasure this go around happens to come from the likes of Freddie Gibbs and frequent collaborator The Alchemist.

With heavy speculation that the two would be dropping a project very soon, it was unclear on what exactly what transpiring. People started to connect the dots with Shazam interactions as key information started to unveil itself regarding the album. Yesterday (May 28), Freddie Gibbs took to his social media accounts to confirm these suspicions with the announcement of his surprise album Alfredo.

Setting the tone with the release of the stand-out single “1985” with an accompanying visual, fans knew what to expect from this project — HEAT. Gangsta Gibbs never misses with his releases and it’s an automatic win for the people any time he connects with one of the best producers in the game, The Alchemist. Their chemistry on wax is an undeniable force that demands the attention of listeners across the globe and Alfredo is yet another reason why Gibbs and Alchemist will go down as one of the best artist/producer duos in the history of rap.

Spanning at 10 records, Gibbs taps on some of the best features anyone could ever ask for for this type of album — Tyler The Creator and Rick Ross, along with Griselda members Benny The Butcher and Conway The Machine. Each of these lyrical phenomenons bring forth their own signature style of wordplay to the forefront, while complimenting the infectious bars and flows of Freddie Gibbs.

If there has EVER been a doubt in your mind about Big Lord’s lyrical ability, you should be highly ashamed of yourself. However, it’s not too late to join the party so on behalf of REVOLT, welcome! Lend your ears below and drop your favorite records in the comment section.
