Recently, IDK handled music supervisor duties for Kevin Durant’s recently premiered documentary Basketball County: In the Water, which aired on Showtime. The Prince George’s County, Maryland native also recruited fellow hometown heroes Rico Nasty, YungManny, Big Flock, Big Jam, and Backyard Band staple Weensey for the posse cut “495.” Now, he liberated a lyric visual for another track titled “Mazel Tov,” which features A$AP Ferg and sees the collaborators flexing their wealth over hard-hitting production from IDK and Ronny J:
“Mazel Tov to the gang, livin’ far from lames, livin’ out in the Hills, jewish guys pay my bills/
Jewish nigga pay my tax, over five-hunnid racks, Uncle Sam need a slap, my new accountant need a dap/
My new bitch need a bag, Who? Me? Huh, laugh, bitch, you better save your money, get creative with the paper like arts and crafts…/”
In the accompanying visual, IDK and his crew can be seen dancing in circles, presumably taking inspiration from bah mitzvahs and other Jewish celebrations.
Via press release, Kevin Durant — who also hails from P.G. County — spoke on the documentary and its importance to the area:
“This is a project that is near and dear to my heart… Having grown up in Prince George’s County and with my family residing there today, it’s my life’s mission to not only give back through my foundation but continue to tell the amazing stories of those that have come from there. I’m really excited to be partnering with Showtime and for fans to hear from some of the world’s best players about what PG County means to them.”
Previously, IDK released his debut studio album Is He Real? last September, which boasted 14 tracks and appearances from DMX, Pusha T, JID, Tyler, the Creator, Burna Boy, GLC, and more. Hopefully, IDK is currently at work on it’s sure-to-be-amazing follow-up.
