Even while incarcerated, Kodak Black is finding ways to get new music to the masses. His latest is the love song “Die With You,” which features assistance from New York artist Jennaske. The two profess their love for each other on the upbeat number, which would have been a perfect fit for Valentine’s Day:

“I can’t lie, you know I’m habitual, when you die I wanna die with you/

You so fine, you make me cry missin’ you, when you die I wanna die with you…/”

“Die With You” follows previously released loosies “Because Of You,” “Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy,” and the NLE Choppa and DB Omerta-assisted “Zombie.” Prior to that, Kodak released his second studio LP Dying To Live, which was released back in 2018 and earned the Floridian artist his first number one album thanks to 89,000 equivalent album units sold.

Despite a thriving career, Kodak Black has found himself in trouble with the law frequently — he’s currently behind bars following a 2019 arrest over firearm charges, which took place just before he was set to perform at Rolling Loud. Recently, his lawyer Bradford Cohen filed a motion to relocate him to a safer prison after an apparent assault by prison guards. Cohen spoke on said motion via Instagram:

“We have filed a motion on Bill’s Federal case to correct an error that should lower his classification in the federal system… In the federal system you are scored on an offense level and a criminal history category. Bill’s criminal history category was a 3, I argued at sentencing that this category was overstated as one of his priors was a misdemeanor marijuana case, that added significant points. The judge accepted that argument and sentenced as if he was a 2. BOP however is still scoring him for placement as a 3.”
