Right now, many are out on the frontlines battling the Coronavirus epidemic, putting their lives at risk for the greater good of humanity. For her latest, Alicia Keys decided to pay tribute to those everyday heroes with her new single “Good Job,” which was co-written alongside The-Dream and Keys’ husband Swizz Beatz:

You’re the engine that makes all things go, and you’re always in disguise, my hero, I see your light in the dark, smile in my face when we all know it’s hard/

There’s no way to ever pay you back, bless your heart, know I love you for that, honest and selfless, I don’t know if this helps it, but/

Good job, you’re doin’ a good job…/”

Earlier this month, Alicia Keys released her memoir More Myself: A Journey, which debuted at No. 3 on the New York Times best seller list. Last month, she explained the meaning behind the title to Oprah Winfrey:

“You don’t have to compare yourself to anybody. You don’t have to try to be like somebody else, you don’t have to try to make other people who you want to please happy… You know, of course we want to be kind and loving to each other, of course. But the goal is that you are making yourself happy, that you are learning more about yourself, that you are able to identify who you are, what you like, what you love, what makes you feel magic.”

Alicia Keys has also been making headlines for her regular family activities. Most recently, Swizz Beatz provided assistance with removing her nail polish:

Check out “Good Job” below. A visual for the song will premiere this evening via CNN, who will be streaming a global town hall hosted by Anderson Cooper and Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Presumably, more information on ALICIA will be arriving soon — currently, some platforms have it set for a December 31 release.
