Currently, the ongoing pandemic has successfully shut down tour and festival season worldwide. Caught in that crossfire is Run The Jewels, who were set to hit the road with Rage Against The Machine this month — now, those dates have been postponed until sometime after May. Thankfully, Killer Mike and El-P aren’t leaving fans completely empty-handed, as they have liberated a new self-produced cut titled “Yankee And The Brave.”

Currently streaming via their social media, the song is as aggressive as ever — with both artists delivering the edgy, in-your-face raps that fit the name:

Back at it like a crack addict, Mr. Black Magic, crack a bitch back/

Chiropractic, Craftmatic big daddy smokin’ big Cali In the black alley, in a black Grand Natty/

Rollin’ down, ole natty hair Nappy, matty as a black, grandaddy, all fact/

No cappin’, fat, black, bold cappin’, stay floatin’ No flappin’, where he runnin’?/

I’m a gunner I’ma have your block hot as a sauna all summer/

And I put that on Osama and my motherf***in’ momma…/

“Yankee And The Brave” is said to be the intro to Run The Jewels’ upcoming fourth album. The track’s release was also preceded by El-P addressing both the current state of affairs and what fans could expect:

DAY 12 OF SOCIAL DISTANCING DONT ASK WHEN IT DROPS WE DONT KNOW YET WE WILL SOON IN THE MEANTIME PUNCH A HOLE IN THE WALL TO THIS S***

Run The Jewels 4 will follow the first three series installments that dropped in 2013, 2014 and 2016, respectively. They also released the hilarious-yet-genius conceptual body of work Meow The Jewels, and have collaborated with the likes of Bun B, Danger Mouse, Danny Brown, Boots, Flosstradamus and more.

Press play on “Yankee And The Brave” below. Currently, it seems that fans can only stream it through Instagram — hopefully, it will become available on all other platforms soon.
