While the world faces the current pandemic in varying degrees, Smokepurrp is maintaining his forward movement via new music for his fans. This week, he liberates a new track titled “Excuse Me,” which sees him rapping his usual subject matter about diamonds, money and big wheels over production from IanoBeatz, Toom and NIKITA3X:

Big Forgiatos on the Jeep, I’m ridin’ big as hell/

Bad model b***h ridin’ with me and she thick as hell/

Mink Cuban links on my neck, it’s gettin’ brick as hell/

S***, I ain’t check my mail, s***, I got rich as hell/

Ice cold baguettes on my teeth, I got rich as hell/

Real life gettin’ better than my dreams, this s*** is crazy as hell…/”

Directed by GXDLIKE, the accompanying visual is just as free-spirited, as Smokepurpp and an associate dance around a mansion, which — as he revealed via Instagram and Soundcloud — functions as a middle finger to COVID-19:

“F*** it Corona virus outside so I’m turnin up inside da house shooting videos, y’all want it? 🎥 @gxdliketcla blow up the comments or you’ll get corona virus”

Last year saw the release of Lost Planet 2.0 and — Smokepurpp’s official debut studio album — Deadstar 2, a continuation of his 2017 mixtape that saw 17 tracks and features from Trippie Redd, Ty Dolla $ign, Moneybagg Yo, Lil Skies, day one collaborator Lil Pump, and more. This year, he’s already connected with TM88 for the single “RR” and delivered a music video for the Denzel Curry-assisted Deadstar 2 cut “What I Please.” Currently, he’s gearing up for the release of Florida Jit, which he announced to the world during his Rolling Loud appearance last year.

As we wait, you can press play on “Excuse Me” below. Florida Jit should hopefully be arriving soon.
