Currently, Lil Baby is flying high off the release of his second studio album My Turn, his first Billboard 200 number one album thanks to about 197,000 equivalent album units sold. He’s already delivered music videos for album cuts “Woah,” “Catch The Sun,” “Sum 2 Prove,” “Heatin Up” featuring Gunna and “Forever” featuring Lil Wayne. Now, he drops off another dope clip for “Grace,” which features assistance from Detroit rising star 42 Dugg.

The track sees the collaborators rapping about real life, from the streets to their wealth and success:

I don’t trust no one, I can’t put my gun down/

Goin’ number one now, hottest out, hands down/

Bands out, pants down, yeah, I’m thuggin’/

I done got rich, everybody my cousin/

You ain’t servin’ no packs with me, you ain’t my brother/

That chopper go through shit, I call it the cutter/

I just bought a new whip, I went bought another, my mother, she happy now.../”

The video comes courtesy of Jon J. and sees Lil Baby greeting Dugg upon his exit from prison. They can both be seen speaking to each other through a confessional, and — keeping with the spiritual theme — in church, where Baby preaches his gospel to family and loved ones.

Unfortunately, life can sometimes imitate art. Last week, 42 Dugg was arrested on a gun charge in Georgia, after investigators got a hold of surveillance footage allegedly showing the rapper — who is unable to carry a gun due to past firearms and carjacking convictions — using a pistol at a gun range in Atlanta. Aligned with Lil Baby’s 4PF imprint, Dugg recently released a single of his own titled “Palm Angels In The Sky.” He also dropped the well-received Young and Turnt project last year. Hopefully, his current legal issues are only a small bump in Dugg’s very promising music career.
