It’s been a couple of years since Jimmy Bolt released the body of work titled Finally Noticed, which saw 24 genre-bending cuts from the rising star. More recently, he connected with newly-minted XXL Freshman alum Lil Keed for “Wolves,” further adding to Bolt’s impressive discography.

Late last month, fans got to check out a new cut from the Houston artist titled “Shots,” which is produced by Jazz Lavar and sees him harmonizing about women, money, and more:

“I don’t trust you, I can’t love you, we ride in Benz’s, yeah I can switch up your view, big dawg she feel my boss, I gotta go raw in you, she ride the dick so insane right, 100 bands on my bitch and my aim right/

Got some shooter on the bay, I got vvs on the way, shawty give me run when I walk in, but my bandz is no time to lay, and you know I got bout 5 or 6 bad bitches on the way.../”

In a past interview with Hip Hop Weekly, Jimmy Bolt spoke on the origins of his moniker:

“It’s just crazy, it’s just like something that I feel describes me so much, just because of my energy on stage ... I’m like calm, but I’m also very just in your face crazy at times.”

According to various publications, Jimmy Bolt was raised on classic tunes by his father, who introduced him to artists like Anita Baker and Otis Redding at an early age. He also found himself on a three-year hiatus from releasing music, continuing to record as he worked to perfect his sound. Given that he’s only 21, one can expect that there’s plenty of gems in the vault that the masses may hear sooner than later.

In the meantime, you can enjoy “Shots” below.
