David Banner enlists Ne-Yo, Big K.R.I.T., T-Pain, Kandi and Trombone Shorty for “Come Home”

The OG rounds up a solid list of talent to assist on his new single.

David Banner is on a mission, and he recruited some elite talent to help him on the journey. The rapper taps Ne-Yo, Big K.R.I.T., T-Pain, Kandi and Trombone Shorty for his recent track “Come Home.” On the song, Ne-Yo starts it off with his verse about Black unity:

“We done survived everything that we been through. It’s time to come home. Time to come on home. Sick and tired of ‘em usin’ your Black against you. When you ain’t alone, it’s time to come on home, come on home, come on home. It’s time to come home, ayy. Listen to mе now. This world is crazy, so much disorder, so much injustice, we just lambs to thе slaughter. For the sake of our sons, pride of our daughters, time to come on home.”

His production company, A Banner Vision, is teamed up with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) for a virtual star-studded concert to help raise funds for their foundation and the students they serve at historically Black colleges and universities. David Banner’s last full length album was 2017’s The God Box, which included features from CeeLo Green, Black Thought, Trinidad James, Big K.R.I.T. and more.

Banner recently spoke to why he thinks Black students should only attend Black schools, and why inclusion is overrated:

“Books are books. We want white culture and white people because we think white people are better, and that is not the truth. We are the oldest people on this planet so how can we look to anybody else to educate us? It’s not a school thing, it’s a mental thing. We are always fighting for inclusion, why do you want to be included where nobody wants you, that is silly.”
