Earlier this month, DaniLeigh unleashed her new project titled Movie, which was literally a movie as it arrived with a 30 minute visual to bring the album to life. She later dropped a music video for one of the cuts off the album as well, the intro track “Superstar” as a separate offering for fans to keep the momentum going. On the track, Dani rides the sultry beat:

I can’t sleep without you no more at night. Even though I know you gotta catch that flight. I wanna show you off, I wanna tell the world. I hope that everybody knows that I’m your girl. Hope TMZ don’t post the pictures from the club’. Cause they’ll show the world exactly who I love. You love the way I always go and get my bag. And that’s to show that I ain’t with you ‘cause you rap.

Equipped with 16 records in total, Movie includes musical contributions from some of the hottest artists in the industry today, including DaBaby, Queen Naija, PartyNextDoor, Gunna, Ty Dolla $ign and more. The new project serves as the follow up to her 2018 debut album The Plan. This summer, Dani gave listeners a taste of the project and tried her hand at a drill track alongside Fivio Foreign for the track “Dominican Mami.”

In a previous interview, Dani reflects on her blueprint as an artist and as a person, and delves into how important her family is to her:

I feel like in my life I have a plan, and I feel like my plan is to be an inspiration to people in the world, be motivational, be a light to the world. I plan to take care of my family. My family’s been a big part of my career, and they’ve dropped everything, and I wouldn’t be where I am right now if it wasn’t for them. And it’s just about being myself as well; everything that I put into this album was super real and genuine, and it’s 100 percent me. I wanted everyone to know that you can win by being yourself.
