It’s a Queens to London affair on Anik Khan’s newest single. The NY rapper tapped Jay Prince to trade bars with him on his new track “Lingo,” which arrived accompanied with a music video that hilariously portrays a spelling bee of some familiar terms. On the track, Jay Prince comes through with his bars flexing about being well-traveled:

“Might be in and out, getting air miles. I’ve been worldwide, you brothers only in the worldwide we. Enough said, onto the said. Who wanna link? I ain’t wanna move. I gotta live, why you hold back when I gotta go in. East side, it’s a London ting. Alright, I’ma talk my shit. No lies, when I speak my truth. The sunside, when I keep my ah, hold up. It’s a bad bad ting.”

Prior to this, Anik Khan released singles this year like “Regardless” and “Unfair” alongside Robin Dey. In 2018, he made headlines with his breakout hit “Big Fax,” and before that he dropped his 2017 project titled Kites.

Jay Prince just recently dropped off SOL, VOL 2 this month which contains a sole feature from Tiny Spies. The project is a follow up from his Oct 16 release, the first installment that included the single “THE WORD” and “GLADLY.” The latter track arrived with a music video, the only visual we’ve seen so far from either project. His last body of work before this was 2019’s WONDER. He also appeared on Goldlink’s Diaspora on the fan favorite track “U Say” alongside Tyler The Creator.

If there’s one thing Anik is going to do, he is going to rep his culture and do so loud and proud. In a recent interview, the rapper shared his thoughts on what it felt like to see his family’s response to a Bangla song he recorded:

“Just to see my father happy. Brown people love Facebook. They’ve just been going off, man. To have something my father’s younger brother’s son FaceTimes me and goes, ‘Bhaiya, (brother) this shit is fire. I’ve been playing it all day.’ Seeing his twenty other friends and their Honda bikes bumping this shit, it’s a whole different experience.”
