Jason Weaver is officially a proud dad once again. On Sunday (Oct. 19), the actor and singer took to his Instagram page to share the arrival of his newborn son, River Jeremiah Weaver, born on Wednesday (Oct. 15) night.
“I’m VERY PROUD, BLESSED, and HAPPY to officially introduce the newest addition to my beautiful family,” Weaver wrote. “Everyone, please meet my newborn son, River Jeremiah Weaver! He was born this past Wednesday at 10:25 pm, and he definitely came in with a bang that evening too.”
The “Smart Guy” star went on to express gratitude. “I, first of all, want to THANK my Heavenly Father/Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for allowing this beautiful child to come into this world as a happy and HEALTHY baby boy,” he shared. “Most importantly, I want [to] thank my BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, AND PHENOMENAL LADY GABBY for bringing our child into this world! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, BABY!! THANK YOU!!!”
He also thanked the doctors and nurses at Wellstar OB/GYN for their support during the birth. Weaver then ended his post on a humorous note, writing, “Aight, let me get back to changing diapers real quick. This lil dude stays droppin’ some big ones!”
A full-circle moment featuring Kappa Kappa Psi
In addition to his growing family, Weaver recently celebrated another major milestone in his life. In July, he was inducted as an honorary member of Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, a full-circle achievement linked to his iconic role in the beloved comedy Drumline. The movie stars Nick Cannon, a street drummer from Harlem who enrolls in a Southern university, only to realize it takes more than talent to reach the top.
As Weaver explained in his Instagram caption, the honor was “25 YEARS in the making since playing the role of ‘Ernest’ in the classic film Drumline.” “I waited a long time to be able to honorably accept and celebrate this special moment in my life, BUT I must say that it was well worth the wait. That said, I want to personally thank my new brothers of Kappa Kappa Psi for welcoming me with open arms,” the 46-year-old continued. “I’m KK Psi ‘til I die!!”
