Jim Jones is calling for a one-on-one Verzuz battle against Jadakiss five months after The LOX and Dipset went head-to-head at Madison Square Garden. The two-group showdown was a legendary moment in New York hip hop, with many crowning The LOX as the winner of the night and Jada as MVP.

“People took it like a rap championship,” Jones told HipHopDX on Thursday (Jan. 13).

“We got on stage with n***as we respect and have known for 20 years,” he continued. “It was a dope event overall and it’s something I don’t think the city will ever get to witness unless we happen to do a rematch or something like that.”

When asked what it would take to get him back on the Verzuz stage, Jones said it would have to be a one-on-one match against Jadakiss.

“I would want to have a Verzuz with Jada. Solo,” he told DX. “He has to deal with me on my terms. He better be prepared. When it comes to a top three, I don’t really have a list. I just got real smoke with Jada.”

Reflecting on The LOX and Dipset’s August battle, Jones added with a laugh, “I don’t like how [Jadakiss] did that! I want total smoke with him. Anybody else is welcome, and if the setting is New York, I feel like I can hang with whoever. I got some New York shit, the city. I got that.”

Last week, Jones offered his thoughts on another potential Verzuz battle: JAY-Z vs. Drake.

“The person I would say that would put up the best fight [against JAY-Z] would be Drake, hands down,” he told Bally Sports’ Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson. “And no, Drake hasn’t been here for the duration that JAY has been, but Drake has put out platinum hits every time he’s put a record out and we all know every single one of Drake’s hits for the past 10 to some odd years that he’s been in this game, which is a long stretch for doing music, and he’s breaking a lot of records when it comes to entries.”

On Friday (Jan. 14), Jones and DJ Drama released their project, Gangsta Grillz: We Set the Trends.
