Wack 100 is refuting reports that Drakeo the Ruler’s family can’t afford to lay the slain rapper to rest.

On Friday (Jan. 7), Wack took to Instagram to address the recent reports. “I just spoke to the family @iamloyaltyandroyalty,” he captioned the post. “All Stories about @drakeotheruler needing donations for a burial is false – All you blogs should be ashamed of yourself. Nephew had the bag & what they can’t get to I got!! HIS FUNERAL HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR BY THE FAMILY.”

Earlier Friday, TMZ reported that Darrylene Corniel, Drakeo’s mother, could not afford the burial service she arranged for her son, which will approximately cost a little under $52,000. The outlet said Corniel filed documents this week asking a court for approval to access her late son’s assets, which are worth at least $2 million, to help cover his funeral costs.

She also stated that she needs the funds quickly to set a date for the burial because bookings for funeral homes are filling up due to the surge in COVID-19 deaths.

As REVOLT previously reported, the “Talk To Me” rapper was fatally stabbed backstage at the Once Upon a Time in L.A. music festival on Dec. 18. Live Nation said the stabbing occurred “in a roadway backstage” at the venue. After the attack, the festival ended early before 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg’s headlining sets could start. Corniel has vowed to find her son’s killers and she is planning to sue the venue where he was stabbed.

So far, no one has been arrested for Drakeo’s death and authorities have reportedly hit a wall in the investigation because witnesses are not willing to cooperate. Investigators are reportedly relying on video surveillance and cellphone footage to solve the case. They are also working to see if Slim 400’s recent death is related in any way.
