Jadakiss is redefining what it means to be “gangsta.” The rapper recently made an appearance on “The Pull Up,” where he and Junior M.A.F.I.A’s Lil Cease engaged in a conversation about his healthy lifestyle.

Addressing a general comment about how he and fellow LOX members “made it cool to be healthy,” he shared his belief that “healthy is gangsta” and explained the importance of taking care of your well-being.

“I think healthy is gangsta,” Kiss said. “Everybody want to be tough guys and this and that, and rich. If you not healthy, you can’t be alive to spend your money. If you not healthy, you can’t enjoy the party, you can’t enjoy the perks of life, you won’t be here to see your kids graduate, to see ’em score they first touchdown, to see things like that. So health is more important than anything.”

“My brothers, Styles, and Sheek… Sheek been working out forever,” he continued. “Styles been on us to eat right and live right. So it’s a collective lifestyle that you gotta live, and there’s nothing corny about wanting to live.”

Promoting ways to extend one’s lifespan is not new to the Yonkers rapper. Aside from documenting his workouts on social media, Jadakiss teamed up with Styles to invest in the Juices For Life franchise, which has multiple locations in the New York City area. He participated in a public health campaign that warns MTA commuters of the signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and has even spoken out against the killings of fellow emcees in the rap game.

“[It’s] something that we have to put an end to—everybody uses their platform for a lot of other things but we have to stop killing us, and we have to stop it immediately,” the “New York” emcee once told TMZ. “It has to be effective as of now—immediately.”

It’s “very sad to “lose so many young talented brothers and sisters in this hip hop culture,” he added. “It has to come to a cease sometime or another.”
