Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin are nearing the end of their divorce proceedings, The Blast reports. According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Franklin filed his “preliminary declaration of disclosure” on Wednesday (Dec. 29), indicating that a settlement in the ex-couple’s split is around the corner.

According to the documents, Franklin has already turned over all of his financial information to Good and also asked that the court terminate its ability to award either one of them spousal support, meaning they likely have a prenuptial agreement or have already reached a decision regarding their finances.

The documents also showed the former couple has been separated since August 21, 2021 and that Franklin cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their divorce.

As reported by REVOLT, Good and Franklin announced the end of their almost 10-year marriage in a joint statement earlier this month.

“After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected,” they wrote on social media.

“We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love,” they continued. “We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other.”

The news was met with shocked reactions from fans on social media, especially since Franklin was the one to file for divorce.

Good and Franklin met on the set of Jumping the Broom and were married the following year in June of 2012. The former couple also co-wrote a book in 2015 called The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love about their love story and practicing abstinence before marriage.
