Over the weekend, SL dropped off a new single titled “Mission Complete,” which sees production from A6ixTheProducer and Khari Dyer and sees him focused on getting to the bag and advancing his career:

“Ball like a boss and I ball how I want till my mission complete, I could get money to last me the year, and I still need a re by the end of the week, what’s with your bro I don’t know what he mean, boy this the streets, we think on our feet, I cannot squabble all over a watch, ’cause I knew Johnny before a Philippe, ran from the plug ’cause his belly was full, no it weren’t great but it’s calm it was cool, back in the day when we wanted a play, having your blade was a part of the rules…”

The accompanying clip for “Mission Complete” comes courtesy of Aukes and sees SL way out in the country, working out and getting into fighting shape — the South London emcee presumably took inspiration from classic Rocky montages. All-in-all, it looks like the masked rapper is preparing himself for an even bigger new year.

Last year, SL teamed up with American producer Kenny Beats for the EP Selhurst SE25, which saw four cuts and a single assist from Coventry star Pa Salieu. Months later, he would keep up that momentum with the full-length effort Different Dude, a 10-track body of work with features from Ayo Britain, Unknown T, and Nafe Smallz. Since then, SL has contributed to tracks like Wretch 32’s “Next Door” and Avelino’s “Waze” — back in April, he teamed up with M1llionz for the hard-hitting drill cut “Versus,” which (with the addition of “Playtime”) means a new body of work from SL lies in our near future.
