Drake has honored his late friend Virgil Abloh with a new tattoo. On Wednesday (Dec. 22), tattoo artist Joaquin Ganga shared a picture of the fresh ink, which is located on Drizzy’s forearm.

The photorealistic tattoo is based on a 2018 picture of Abloh throwing a kite down a Louis Vuitton runway during Paris Fashion Week. Ganga replicated the photo in black-and-white ink, writing, “A remembrance of the great Virgil Abloh done on Drake @champagnepapi @virgilabloh Microrealism @off____white @louisvuitton.”

The tribute arrives weeks after the fashion pioneer’s passing at the age of 41. After news of his death surfaced on Nov. 28, Drake mourned the loss of his friend on social media.

“My plan is to touch the sky 1000 more times for you,” he captioned an Instagram post. “Love you eternally brother. Thank you for everything.”

As reported by REVOLT, Abloh passed away following a years-long private battle with cardiac angiosarcoma cancer. He and Drake were close friends and collaborators for several years, with Abloh designing the rap star’s custom private jet, as well as the Patek Philippe Nautilus watch that Drake mentioned on his song with Future, “Life Is Good.”

Drake is the latest rapper to honor the Off-White creator. At Rolling Loud California, Kid Cudi dedicated his performance to Abloh.

“I want to dedicate this entire show to Virgil Abloh,” he told the crowd at the time. “Tonight I got a special tribute for him. So, we’re going to celebrate for him. He would want to see us happy. He would want to see us raging. This is what he wants. So, we’re here and we’re celebrating for him. If you’re worried, if you have any troubles in your life; put all that shit aside. Tonight, we’re all one family. I love each and every one of you. And we here for Virgil.”
