While JAY-Z believes no artist can battle him in a Verzuz, Lil Jon begs to differ. On Tuesday (Dec. 21), after Hov boasted about his discography on Twitter Spaces, the Atlanta producer took to Instagram to refute the claims and offer his suggestion of a worthy competitor.

BUSTA WILL SMOKE JAY-Z,” he wrote. His post ignited yet another conversation between Twitter users, many of whom were interested in seeing the two rappers face off.

@EnterDaDome claimed a Busta and Hov Verzuz makes sense “since neither [artist] believes they can be beat.”

@Lawrencetha3rd added that “JAY-Z and Busta Rhymes would be a dope #VERZUZ longevity, hits, features, & they reppin their city.”

Lil Jon‘s suggestion of a JAY and Busta battle comes after Hov said that no one can go head-to-head with him in Verzuz.

“I ain’t gonna lie. No disrespect, everyone’s amazing. They’ve done what they’ve done. No one can stand on that stage with me,” the Brooklyn rapper declared. “It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me for, I don’t know how long [a battle] is, one hour? Two hours?”

“You got to stand in front of the ‘Grammy Family Freestyle’ live? No one has ever even seen me perform that, you got to stand in front of that?” he continued. “That ain’t never going to happen.”

Busta, on other hand, has been eager to hit the Verzuz stage. His requests, however, have reportedly been declined by a handful of rappers. According to Fat Joe, the rejections indicate a level of fear.

Fat Joe scared to do Verzuz with Busta Rhymes and so is everybody else,” he said on Instagram. “You gotta understand, sometimes you ever notice — you seen boxers and they knock everybody out? People be scared to fight those boxers.”

Busta Rhymes is gonna outrap, outperform anybody who goes up in a Verzuz with him,” Joey Crack explained. “That’s a fact. Yo, Busta Rhymes nobody wanna get in there with you, man. You might have to be an honorary — they gotta give you the check for no reason.”
