Boosie was the subject of a social media conversation regarding his violation of yet another historically Black fraternity. The rapper wore a jacket from Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

In a video shared on Thursday (Dec. 2), Boosie posed with the jacket while issuing a challenge to members of the frat.

“Check this out, and I know I look good in this jacket,” he said. “Remind me of the great Dr. Martin Luther King. I need whoever do the best stroll with this jacket, we gon have an award for y’all. Y’all go do the Run It Up challenge, and it’s big, bro.” It wasn’t long before social media users took to Twitter to express their opinions.

Boosie loud, ignorant and homophobic ass was getting support throughout all the shit he was saying, but now he’s wearing an Alpha jacket and he’s just now disrespectful,” wrote one user.

Another person compared Boosie to Amanda Seales, who was the brunt of backlash for her portrayal of an AKA on “Insecure.” “Boosie wearing Alpha paraphernalia is lame as hell,” he wrote. “Idc what no one says. To me, that’s worse than the Amanda Seal[e]s thing.”

Some users simply found humor in the clip, particularly Boosie’s mention of Alpha member Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

“Boosie put the Alpha Jacket on & said he feel like MLK,” joked one person. “Brehhh that’s the funniest shit I seen all week.”

While the “Wipe Me Down” star ruffled feathers by throwing on the Alpha jacket, this isn’t the first time he’s donned paraphernalia from a Historically Black fraternity. Last year, he received threats after wearing a shirt designed for members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.

“I apologize to ’em, but I need some [apologies] too because they talking ’bout they shed blood for this,” Boosie said after facing backlash. “They got people in my DMs talking like they built like me. Like they talking gangsta. I’m like bruh, it ain’t that serious. I don’t wanna do nothing witchu. My bad, dawg.”

His switch from Kappa to Alpha clothing also made for some good jokes in the social media convo.

“Boosie went from a Que to a Nupe and NOW he a Alpha!” read one tweet. Another read, “Lord the Black community just letting that men run reckless.” “LOL. Boosie said I [d]on’t wanna be a Kappa no more, lemme be an Alpha real quick.”
