Bill Cosby supports Kanye West’s efforts to free Larry Hoover, Radar reports. In his “Drink Champs” interview aired on Thursday (Nov. 11), Ye revealed he hired Cosby’s lawyer to help get the former gangster released from prison.

Cosby’s representative Andrew Wyatt reportedly told the outlet that the 84-year-old “has no knowledge of Mr. Hoover,” but believes the judicial system “has shown its hatred towards Black men who are incarcerated.”

Wyatt added that Hoover “has paid his debt to society and his story must be told in the same manner that I always reminded people of the good that Mr. Cosby brought to the world.” According to Radar, Wyatt further said he would “love to sit down with Kanye” and discuss a legal strategy to free Hoover.

“I stand with Ye and Mr. Hoover,” Wyatt said, adding that Cosby appreciates Kanye’s continued support. “I also would like to say thank you to Ye on behalf of Mr. Cosby and the Cosby family for his support of Mr. Cosby. Thank you very much.”

Ye revealed he hired Cosby’s lawyer while putting together a new legal team for Hoover on “Drink Champs.”

“We’re putting together a new team for [Hoover],” he told co-hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN. “It’s much like in the footsteps of my father-in-law, Robert Kardashian. We got the lawyer that just got Cosby out.”

Kanye has been a proponent of Hoover’s for years, most recently calling on Drake to perform with him at an upcoming concert “with the ultimate purpose being to free Larry Hoover.”

Hoover’s son, Larry Hoover Jr., was also present for Kanye’s “Drink Champs” interview.

“He has five or six life sentences. I don’t know the exact number, but it doesn’t matter ‘cause both of ‘em is horrible,” he said of his dad. “But, under the First Step Act, he deserves to come home and he qualifies to come home.”
