Kanye West’s appearance on “Drink Champs” was surely one for the record books — which isn’t surprising since he’s known to break them every so often anyway. Chopping it up with the show hosts N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, the recording artist and fashion designer opened up about several different topics and gave his opinions about a number of different people — some friends and others former.

In between the shade that was thrown here and there, West also made it a point to show love to a few fellow recording artists. One receiver of the props given was Soulja Boy. West said that the “Crank Dat” rapper is actually one of the most impactful artists in music today. “With Soulja Boy, [he] is top five most influential… and I’m not gonna argue with you niggas about this at all,” the DONDA artist stated. “As far as to what we are today.”

This statement made N.O.R.E. asked why Soulja was removed from West’s latest album if West is such a big fan of his. West joked, “You ain’t here that verse?” After everyone bursted into laughter, the “Drink Champs” co-host reminded the Chicago rapper that Soulja was mad about being taken off of the project. N.O.R.E. asked West, “The verse wasn’t good?” And West simply replied, “Nah.” He added, “I’ll tell you what though. Soulja Boy is the future. Future the future…”

Elsewhere in the conversation, West also showed love to his “big brother” JAY-Z, but unfortunately had some not-so-nice things to say about his former G.O.O.D. Music signee Big Sean, who he called a sellout along with John Legend. “The worst thing I ever done was sign Big Sean,” West said.

“I know this man mama, bro… I changed this man’s family. Both John Legend and Big Sean, when I ran for office, got used quick by the Democrats to come at they boy that actually changed they life. And that’s some sellout shit.” West added, “And I don’t rock with neither of them and I need my apologies…but niggas is scared.”
